Buddy Schwimmer

Buddy Schwimmer, also known as the “King of Swing” and “The Man with a Thousand Moves,” was one of the top award-winning dancers in the business for decades. Not only was he a performer on the 1977 television variety show Dance Fever with Lynn Vogen, as well as the 1992 show Big Band Ballroom Bash, he is also credited with inventing the nightclub two-step in the 1960’s.

Over the years, Buddy has trained dancers to become star-quality performers and choreographers for movies, music videos and tv shows including, So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing with the Stars, Your Chance to Dance, American Graffiti, Christina Aguilera’s Candy Man, American Idol, High School Musical, Strictly Come Dancing and more! 

Elegant Occasions is honored to host Buddy for this Syncopations Workshop and thrilled to bring his knowledge, skill and good humor to the local West Coast Swing community.

Experienced WCS dancers are invited to join us for a 2.5 hour Intermediate West Coast Swing SYNCOPATIONS Workshop with the legendary, Buddy Schwimmer.  This workshop will blow the lid off your dancing! In his “get to the point” style, Buddy will teach eye-catching, leadable, fun-yet-challenging syncopations which will TRANSFORM your dance. Come prepared to work! This is a fact paced, “get ‘er done” workshop. Competitors are strongly encouraged to make THIS WORKSHOP a priority! Class size is limited. Last time we did this, we had to turn people away! Don’t be one of them. Register TODAY!

Experienced West Coast Swing dancers should, at a minimum, know basic 6 and 8 count patterns, know the basic rhythm of the triple, and be able to lead or follow basic patterns safely and proficiently.

Must pre-register by August 1, 2019.

Tickets will be held at the door.
